Meet chef and artist Chelsea Turowsky
Chelsea Turowsky (New York, 1989) is an American artist working in food and text. Her poetry is in conversation with nature. Her cuisine is in conversation with memory. She is based in Berlin, where she works professionally as a chef. After spending a decade in San Francisco studying poetry, Chelsea’s work is deeply influenced by nature and by bold, fresh flavors with a delicate refined touch. Since 2018 her studio has operated in Berlin as a food and beverage consultancy and catering and events company, with Chelsea assuming chef residencies at various restaurants and geographies.
Her latest project is a hosting space within her culinary studio in the Wedding neighborhood of Berlin, where Chelsea and her team host their Omakase style dinners. Chelsea Turowsky Studio works primarily in the arts and design sector, collaborating with individual artists, brands, designers and institutions to translate concepts into culinary. Chelsea considers the table a shrine and the act of eating, an offering.
Her work is sanctuary-like, calm, peaceful, with a mysterious edge reminiscent of dreams.
